Calgary No. 1 for real estate investment

When investing in real estate, sometimes it's necessary to look beyond your own backyard.

The Real Estate Investment Network, a national organization of investors, has compiled what ...

Mortgage Rates

Just heard some incredible news. 5 year closed variable rates are now available at 3.85%!

A good time to buy/upgrade/invest for sure!

Calgary Flames

April 23rd, 2008

So its over! Game 6 was fantastic, and gave us great momentum, and a lot of hope. Unfortunately it was not enough to take us through to the next round.

The Flames did a fantastic job, and really fought well. San Jose just got lucky!! lol. Despite the fact we lost, we did make it to game 7, with team 2 in the NHL. That shows incredible tonacity. Even some Calgarians, shame on you, didnt b ...

2008 Juno Awards

April 11th, 2008

Well me, Roberto, and one of my closest friends Rob attended the Junos 2008 in Calgary On Sunday.

What a performance!. First of all, Russell Peters was fantastic. His racial jokes are totally hysterical. His presence made the awards. To be honest, I have never really taken an interest in the Junos. However I think the Canadian Music Scene is really making a name for itself. Save for Celine ( ...

Seasons Greetings

December 25th, 2005

To all my friends, clients and collegues,

I wish you all the best for health, happiness, and prosperity (in that order) for 2006 and always.

What a fantastic day it is in Calgary. My pager hasn't gone off once yet. The sunrise was spectacular. And I can't wait to to have Christmas Dinner. ( I already finished off the Bernard Callebaut box for breakfast....YUM!)

Yes I do celebrate Chr ...

Government Falls

November 29th, 2005

Well, no surprise, the Liberal goverment today was defeated in Parliament, during the non-confidence vote.

Rather than a celebration, I actually think this situation is a huge embarassment to us, as a supposed, civilized, progressive, first world country.

Having lived in a "third" world country, Kenya, I can tell you the true meaning of democracy and stability. We have it here, in Canada. ...

Remembrance Day

November 26th, 2005

I think a day like this is not given the attention it really deserves. Especially from people like myself, who adopted Canada as their home.

Lucky, I did not come from a war torn country, but I did come from a country that had on going civil un-rest, and where security was an 24 hour issue. Kenya is a wonderful place, however nothing beats Canada. Our way of life here is second to none! We t ...

Health Care I

November 26th, 2005

The ongoing debate of health care continues to dominate the news, especially with the threats of a winter election. Here are some of my experiences.

As previously mentioned, my Father passed away last year after various health issues, some of which were due to his age. However, understanding that we must all die sooner or later, I believe the keeping ones dignity is important for anyone, at ...

Greek Olympic Bobsled

November 26th, 2005

Yes. I said "GREEK" bobsled team.

Last thursday I had the Greek Olympic bobsled team home for dinner. Friends of one my good friend and Collegue, Nick.

They are here two or three times a year training for the Torino games in 2006.

A truly great bunch of guys, who have come here on their own steam. No sponsors like some of the big teams. Ring a bell??? Jamaican bobsled team?? Look how far t ...

My Father

November 26th, 2005

Today is the one year anniversary of my Father passing

I miss him. Tremendously in fact. Yet, I feel he is at peace and that makes me smile. But not without a tear or three.

I think of him everyday. I feel his guidance, his encouragement, his compassion, and his love in everything I do, and in all my thoughts. This gives me immense strength, and a different way of looking at everyday life.
